The material made from what the palm groves leave behind.
Each year, the palm groves of Elche in Spain are pruned, leaving behind around 3,000 tons of leaves and fronds. Most of it is burned or composted at a cost. For us, it's a raw material.
PalmSkin is what happens when that pruning waste gets crushed, ground, and dried, with no electricity or fossil fuels, then bonded onto a 100% recycled cotton backing. The result is 98% bio-based, with the hand of leather. In 2023 we processed our first 4,800 kg, with the goal of reusing the whole annual harvest.

The Palmeral is a historic palm grove in Spain and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Keeping it healthy means pruning, and pruning leaves a lot behind.
Instead of burning that waste, we turn it into material, helping fund the upkeep of a living heritage. One short, traceable supply chain.

How it's made

Drying
The residues are dried naturally, with no electricity or fossil fuels.

Grinding
The dried palm is crushed and ground into fine fibers.

Finishing
The fibers are blended with a little polyamide, bonded onto a recycled cotton backing, and stitched into your sneakers.

What is PalmSkin?

Wipe them with a soft, damp cloth and let them air dry. Avoid soaking, direct heat, and harsh solvents. Our sneaker cleaning kit helps keep them looking new.
