FROM THE PALMERAL OF ELCHE, SPAIN

INTRODUCING PALMSKIN

PalmSkin is made from palm tree pruning residues (leaves, fronds, and other waste) sourced from the Palmeral of Elche in Spain, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Instead of being burned or composted at high cost, this agricultural waste is transformed into a low-impact and functional material.

PALMSKIN IS 98% BIOBASED

PALMSKIN COMPONENTS

It is composed of 69% recycled cotton and 29% palm fibers, with 2% polyamide added to ensure durability. The result is a material that is 98% biobased. Its backing is made entirely from recycled cotton, which is a sustainable choice. It emits only 1.01 kg of CO₂ per kilogram, compared to 16 kg for conventional cotton, according to the ADEME’s Base Empreinte database.

FROM PALM TO A WEARABLE MATERIAL

PALMSKIN PRODUCTION STAGES

The production of PalmSkin starts with the collection of palm pruning waste. These organic residues are then crushed, ground, and dried without electricity or fossil fuels. Once dried, the fibers are blended with a small amount of polyamide and applied to a 100% recycled cotton backing.

In 2023, 4,800 kg of palm residues were processed by our supplier based on Poveda Textil. The long-term goal is to reuse all 3,000 tons generated annually by the Palmeral of Elche.
