INTRODUCING Mushroomskin
Our partner ®TANTEC has created an innovative material with a high content of plant-based, renewable and recycled raw materials: farmed mushroom remains.
®TANTEC aims to develop innovative natural materials with a focus on sustainable development and reducing dependence on petroleum-derived chemicals.

From Mushroom farms to a wearable material
Mushroomskin PRODUCTION STAGES
Mushrooms are waste from the food industry, providing additional income for Vietnamese farmers.
They are mixed with natural latex to make a paste which is then rolled onto a viscose/lyocell textile backing. In addition to containing 250 g of mushrooms per m², this material is 100% biosourced and vegan.

Animal-free and Resistant
VEGAN AND DURABLE
Tantec® is an animal-free material and is PETA-Approved Vegan and certified vegan by the Vegan Society.

MushroomSkin components
The MushroomSkin is made using a high content of vegetal, renewable and recyclable raw material: MushroomSkin from Vietnamese farms.
Made from 17% mushrooms, this robust material has the look and feel of leather and is designed to last, so you can always show off your favorite eco-responsible sneakers.
Composition: 64% lyocell/viscose + 19% natural rubber + 17% structural ingredients including mushroom.

Water-conservative, energy-efficient and low carbon
CARBON IMPACT
Mushroomskin uses very little water to grow and be maintained. In comparison, the average pair of leather sneakers will use a whopping 2,257 gallons of water during the production process.
Study by certified agency ®FairlyMade shows that the production of GEN1 emits 6.89kg of CO2, which is on average 78% less compared to an equivalent animal leather sneaker.
