1.MushroomSkin
The First Material with Zero Plastic
100% natural, 0% plastic—meet the material revolution of the year at MoEa! MushroomSkin is a groundbreaking innovation in the world of bio-based materials. More than just an alternative to leather, it’s a true alternative to plastic. Made from mushrooms, Tencel™, and natural rubber, it’s designed to be flexible and durable. With a carbon footprint of only 3.39kg/m² (as verified by a 2023 LCA by Fishwick Environmental), MushroomSkin is a key element of our collection.
2.Re[MoEa] / SECOND LIFE
Collecting Your Old MoEa Sneakers Has Begun
With 3.2 million tons of textiles and shoes discarded every year (according to ADEME), MoEa is committed to reducing the end-of-life impact of its products. We’re proud to launch Re[MoEa] this year, extending the life of your sneakers through a skilled artisan. For pairs that are beyond repair, our Second Life program repurposes them 100%, creating unique new designs. Got a pair to recycle? Send it to us for free by clicking here!
3.2023 Carbon Footprint
Measuring Impact with Precision
616 tons of CO2 equivalent—that’s MoEa’s carbon footprint for 2023. This comprehensive study includes not just product impacts like LCAs (Life Cycle Assessments), but also business travel, communication materials, and office energy use. Armed with this data, we’ve developed a five-year action plan to grow the brand sustainably.
4.€120,000 Raised for Vakita
Thanks to the exclusive MoEa x Vakita sneaker, we’ve been able to donate an incredible €120,000 to Vakita. This digital platform, created by Hugo Clément, highlights initiatives, solutions, and ideas to build a more sustainable and eco-friendly future.
5.Launching Our First TEXTILE Sneaker
Made from Banana Fibers
The GEN4 is more than just a sneaker—it’s MoEa’s first textile model made from banana fibers! Launched for the Spring-Summer 2024 collection, it’s crafted from abaca, a banana species that requires no irrigation or pesticides to grow. With a carbon footprint of just 9.13kg per pair—70% lower than a leather sneaker of similar weight, according to a 2024 LCA by FAIRLY MADE®—the GEN4 is a game-changer.
6.Creating an Innovative Eco-Design Tool
Material choice and production methods are at the core of MoEa’s strategy to offer products with a limited environmental impact. For over two years, we’ve conducted LCAs to calculate the emissions of our collections. This year, we took it a step further by developing an eco-design tool with an external expert, enabling us to estimate the impact of future collections during the design phase. This ensures we rigorously select materials that meet our sustainability goals.
7.Collaboration with Disney
for the Release of Moana 2
We’re thrilled to have created two sneaker designs—one for adults and one for kids—inspired by Moana 2. This marks the debut of both our children’s models and our new CoconutSkin material, made from coconut fibers.
8.Launching a New Coconut-Based Material
Hace calor with our new coconut-based bio-material! 100% Spanish—from raw material to production—CoconutSkin is the perfect way to close out 2024. Launched as part of our Disney collaboration (available here), this material is made from 73% coconut waste sourced from the local food industry.

10.Sponsoring Caliméro
This year, MoEa proudly became the sponsor of Caliméro! Rescued in 2010 by the Groin Groin association, this adorable donkey now lives a life full of care and love. Caliméro adores cuddles, and the whole team can’t wait to shower him with affection in the new year.
